Magic Musicbox

A music "game" for Panic's handheld system: Playdate

Features:

• Crank to play the songs or auto-play
• Magically generates new songs, including percussion
• Change key and scale live to play the Magic Musicbox like an instrument
• Choose between 4 synthesizer sounds (Sine, Saw, Square, Triangle)
• Edit mode for entering your own sequences

Controls:

• Live Mode (Mode selector in menu)
  • Up / Down: Transpose by half-step
  • Left / Right: Change scale
    • Major Pentatonic
    • Minor Pentatonic
    • Stack of 4ths
  • B: Generate a new song
• Edit Mode
  • Up / Down/Left/Right: Move cursor
    
  • B: Toggle Note on/off
• A: Stat/stop auto-play
• Crank: Play the song (one beat per 360° rotation). During auto-play turning the crank will still advance/reverse the playback by one beat per full rotation, effectively speeding up or slowing down the auto-play.

Settings:

• BPM: How fast auto-play should progress
• Synth: Which sound should be used for the pitched notes
• Mode (v1.1): Switch between Live mode and Edit mode
